📅 The small actions you do today, will determine yourself in 2 years time · The Bunker #30

It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day hustle and grind of work and life, but it's important to take a step back and really think about what you're working towards.

Hey there, Bunker crew! 🤘

Grab some coffee ☕, and let’s get started!

Today, I’d like to talk about the power of your actions, and how the things you prioritize and focus on today will ultimately determine who you are in 2 years time. It's a big idea, but it's an important one that can have a huge impact on your life and career.

It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day hustle and grind of work and life, but it's important to take a step back and really think about what you're working towards. What are your goals, both short-term and long-term? What are the things that truly matter to you?

Once you have a clear understanding of what you're working towards, it's important to prioritize your time and energy accordingly. Something that worked for me, was to write down in a sticky note, the goals I’d like to achieve, so whenever I feel procrastinating, I just have to read the sticky notes.

Here are a few things you can do to make sure you're focusing on what matters:

📝 Prioritize your goals and focus on the things that truly matter to you

It's easy to get distracted by the latest shiny object or trend, but it's important to stay focused on your goals and the things that truly matter to you. Take some time to write down your goals, both short-term and long-term, and then prioritize them based on what's most important to you. This will help you stay focused and avoid getting sidetracked by things that don't matter.

🧘‍♀️ Take breaks and allow yourself to be bored

As I mentioned in another post, allowing yourself to be bored is actually an investment in your creativity and mental well-being. Take breaks throughout the day to recharge your batteries and allow your mind to wander. This will give your brain the space it needs to come up with new ideas and insights.

🤝 Surround yourself with supportive and inspiring people

The people you surround yourself with can have a huge impact on your mindset and motivation. Make sure you're surrounding yourself with people who support your goals and inspire you to be your best self. This could be colleagues, mentors, friends, or family members - anyone who uplifts and motivates you.

📚 Invest in your learning and personal growth

Continuing to learn and grow is essential for staying relevant and competitive in any field. Take the time to invest in your learning and personal growth, whether that's through reading books, taking courses, attending conferences, or networking with others in your industry. The more you learn, the more valuable you become.

For example, in the next month, I’m going skiing, that was something I always wanted to do but until I didn’t have a driving license I couldn’t do it by myself. Once I got my driving license and the energy to do that, I decided and allowed myself to spend a few days just for myself. I took my girlfriend, I bought a completely new set of ski outfits and we’ll be having fun for a few days. Yes, because I can. And because I just mentioned, it’s an investment in creativity. Allow yourself to be bored, get the Howards Legacy and start playing from time to time.

💪 Take action towards your goals, even if it's just a small step

Finally, it's important to take action towards your goals, even if it's just a small step. Every action you take brings you one step closer to where you want to be, so don't be afraid to take action, even if you're not sure where it will lead. Remember, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Remember, the small actions you take today will add up over time and ultimately determine who you are in 2 years time. So make sure to prioritize the things that matter to you, and don't be afraid to take a step back and allow yourself to be bored. It just might be the best thing you ever do for your future self.

Until next time,

Jordi Espinosa.
