🧘🏻‍♂️ All you lack is focus · The Bunker #35

According to a study conducted by the University of California, Irvine, it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back on track after being distracted.

Hi friends! ⛷️

Grab some coffee ☕, and let’s get started!

You think you have talent, but you haven't yet achieved what you really want.

You're a hard worker, but you're still not getting the results you expect.

There’s something you’re missing.

It all boils down to 2 things:

  1. 🎯 Prioritization
  2. 🧘🏻‍♂️ Focus

That's all. If you're not getting the expected results, it's because you still don't know how to prioritize correctly and you don't know how to focus on your tasks.

Achieving “success” (in other posts we will go deeper about “success”) is something that we all aspire to, but it's not always easy. There are many factors that come into play, but one of the most important is staying focused and being able to prioritize correctly.

🧑🏻‍🔬 Scientific research has shown that these two skills are essential for success.

According to a study conducted by the University of California, Irvine, it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back on track after being distracted.

This means that every time we get distracted, it takes us almost half an hour to refocus our attention.

This is a huge amount of time that could be better spent on productive work.

Studies have shown that people who are able to prioritize their work are more productive and successful.

A study conducted by McKinsey & Company found that people who prioritize their work are 25% more productive than those who don't.

This means that by prioritizing our work, we can achieve more in less time, which is crucial for success.

The study followed a group of MBA students and found that those who were able to focus on their goals and prioritize their work were more likely to achieve their career objectives than those who were easily distracted.

Scientific-based facts.

What can we do to stay focused and prioritize correctly? Here are some tips that worked out pretty good for me recently:

  1. 📋 Make a to-do list: Write down everything that you need to do and prioritize them in order of importance. This will help you stay focused on the most critical tasks and avoid getting distracted by less important ones.
  2. 🍃 Eliminate distractions: Turn off your phone notifications, close your email inbox, and remove any other distractions that might tempt you away from your work.
  3. 🍅 Use the Pomodoro Technique: Work in 25-minute blocks with short breaks in between. This technique can help you stay focused and avoid burnout.
  4. 📅 Create a routine: Establishing a routine can help you stay on track and be more productive. Set a schedule for when you'll work, take breaks, and when you'll finish for the day.

Staying focused and being able to prioritize correctly is essential for success.

🔎 Problem identified. Now let's go for the solutions.

But what does it mean to prioritize? How can I prioritize correctly? What should I focus on?

  1. 🥅 Define your goals and objectives: Before starting work, it's important to have clarity on the goals and objectives you need to achieve. This way, you can identify which tasks are the most important and prioritized.
  2. 📅 Set deadlines and due dates: Once you've identified your goals and objectives, set deadlines and due dates for each of the tasks you need to complete. This way, you can have a clearer view of which tasks are more urgent and need to be prioritized.
  3. 🚨 Prioritize urgent tasks: If you have tasks with imminent due dates, it's important to prioritize them and complete them as soon as possible to avoid delays and issues.
  4. ⚠️ Prioritize important tasks: In addition to urgent tasks, it's important to identify tasks that are important in achieving your long-term goals and objectives. These tasks may not be urgent, but they are equally important and should be considered in your priority list.
  5. 🏉 Delegate tasks: If you have many tasks to do and can't do everything yourself, consider delegating some of them to other team members or freelancers. This way, you can focus on the most important tasks that only you can do.
  6. Be realistic with your time: Make sure you're realistic with the time it takes you to complete each task. Don't overestimate and don't commit to more than you can handle. If you have too many tasks and can't complete them within the deadline you've set, consider re-evaluating your priorities and adjusting your deadlines.
  7. 📋 Make a task list: It can be helpful to make a list of all the tasks you need to do and prioritize them based on their importance and urgency. This way, you can have an overview of everything you need to do and make sure you're working on the most important tasks at all times.

Stay focused. Prioritize the things that matter to you. Over time, you’ll realize that applying effects in your website won’t get you clients. Reaching out to them in their inbox, will get you clients.

Make things easy at first. Make it work, then make it good.

And we could expand it forever. Let me know if you would like me to write more about this.

Until next time,

Jordi Espinosa.
